Change and More Change and a Giveaway!

The end of the year was over a week ago and with it came many changes.  Anyone that knows me knows I really do not like change. I had a fabulous class that I was very fond of.  They grew up so much from the beginning of the year until the very last day!  They changed from little babies to sweet, kind students ready for first grade.

However, the BIG change for me was to finally decide to switch grade levels and schools.  I have been teaching at the same school for 12 years and in the same classroom for 11 years.  See - I don't like change. It doesn't mean I haven't seen change - I have had over 6 principals, 8 assistant principals (3 this year alone) and a number of teammates come and go.  I have been fortunate to have taught with my friend for the past 10 years and two additional friends for the past 6 years.  So, needless to say, it was a difficult decision to make but I feel it was the right decision.

Next year I will be teaching KinderPrep at the new state-of-the-art facility our district has built.  I went to see my new room and realized after packing and packing and packing, the new room isn't nearly as big and lacks a storage closet!  So one of my many summer projects is to go through all the boxes I brought home and decide what goes and what I really need to keep.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful, restful summer.  Don't forget it's vacation time so don't overwork yourselves!  Take time for a book, your family and rest up - the new school year will be here before you know it!
